Our Projects
Donate to the Morrison Park Playground Project -
|
The Rotary Club of Westlake Village partners with Morrison Park Playground and the city of Agoura Hills to build an all inclusive park and playground. We are fundraising for $500,000 to renovate the Morrison Park playground. The goal is to create an inclusive play space where children of ALL abilities can play together. Every child deserves to play! Playgrounds are so important for community connection and child development. The current playground configuration at Morrison Park is not designed for children with disabilities like Skylar. Skylar (pictured left with his dad Ryan Goldman) is the inspiration to advocate for inclusion.
Follow the progress and join our inclusion revolution. |
MEALS ON WHEELS
What is meals on wheels?
It is a service that delivers daily hot and/or cold meals to the homes of elderly or disabled people, usually implemented by a local Non Profit and volunteers. In our area that non profit is Senior Concerns. Our club volunteers every Saturday to deliver these meals. It takes an hour or two. Join us in #serviceaboveself in our community.

Harbor House Lunches
Everyday Harbor House provides a pickup meal and/or lunch. They need lunches every day. We brought them to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, W. Avenida de Los Arboles, Thousand Oaks (back parking lot) between 4:00-4:30 PM on your scheduled date. Check out the sign-up genius link on the HH website with all of the information for both lunches and hot meals.
Check the Rotary calendar or Presidents updates and join us as we combine a community service project (making lunches for Harbor House) with a time for friends and socializing.
RIDE ON HORSE THERAPEUTIC HORSEMANSHIP SERVICE
Our Community Service team identified a need and fulfilled it by having a Hands-On Service Day on a holiday weekend in February 2022.
Ride On teaches adaptive horseback riding to children and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities. We also provide physical & occupational therapy, specializing in using the movement of the horse to improve specific medical conditions.
Visit Ride On's website, see all of the things that they do and what you can do to help out. Want to see more of what we did on our service day, visit our Facebook Photo Album
EASTER BASKETS
A favorite project during the spring was donating items for easter baskets, putting the baskets together and then delivering them to the non profit organizations in need. Ask how to volunteer.

The Community Service Committee has designated the National Nutrition Month March as our clubs month for Food Drives to benefit local Food Banks. Our first one, found us delivering to Manna of Thousand Oaks.
Manna of Thousand Oaks recently relocated. Manna has moved! Our new address is 95 N. Oakview Drive in Thousand Oaks.
Our food pantry hours and donation times remain the same. Our phone number is still 805-497-4959. More information.

BACK PACK Projects
Together, the Rotary Clubs Group 4 in District 5240 and other organizations and our community got together and donated over 30,000 school supplies and filled close to 1,400 backpacks for the kids in the community, some homeless and some in need. Our Rotary Club of Westlake Village had a couple of Back Pack projects going on, one of them specifically benefiting the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Ventura County with 150 backpacks.
Funds to complete the project were raised by Club members and generous citizens like yourself.
Combining the goals and resources of your community with the wide reach of Rotary helps us pool resources, and share them where they can do the most impact. The coordination of these types of projects brings more assistance to those in need, maximizing the impact of limited and specialized resources.

Our smaller Rotary Club WLV group stuffing the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Ventura County 150 backpacks.
The Rotary Group 4 of District 5240: Presidents from The Rotary Club of Westlake Village, Rotary Club of Sunrise Westlake Village, The Thousand Oaks Rotary Club and the Rotary Club of Conejo Valley worked together getting donations from each club and participating in the stuffing of these much needed backpacks.
Member involvement was the focal point and Rotary Club members completed hands-on work alongside other volunteers. It was a very humbling experience working with the entire community.
Full of initiative, Rotary members are working for a stronger, and better tomorrow. Operating independently but pooling resources enables multiple plans and actions to be in motion at once. These action groups serve as resources, collaborating to undertake effective, sustainable approaches to dominate world and local issues.
EPIC Journey Against Diabetes
