The Conejo Valley Quilters was founded in 1996 and provided a comradery between quilters.  Meetings are once a month and provide guest speakers and workshops that give the quilters an opportunity to learn new techniques and ideas.  It also is an opportunity to give back to our Community through the donation of quilts made by the members and cash.

Tickets will be sold at the door.  There will be many quilts made by our members on display, a quilt auction on Saturday at 2:00, Guest Speakers and door prizes.

A portion of the profits from the Conejo Valley Quilt show will be donated to Interface Children and Family Services and to the Alzheimer’s Association.  We also donate finished quilts to three Ventura County Charities – Interface, Alzheimer’s Association and Habitat for Humanity.  To Interface, we provide quilts and special pillowcases that will be given to women and children who come to Interface for assistance.  The quilts we donate to Alzheimer’s Association are called sensory quilts and they help patients to maintain their sense of awareness.  To Habitat for Humanity, we donate quilts to each of the family members who are getting a new home of their own in The Thousand Oaks area.

An additional fund raiser is the selling of tickets (6 for $5.00) for a very special Quilt that is made by the members. This year the king size quilt is bordered in the gothic design and has five blocks in the center with appliquéd three dimensional flowers.  The value of the quilt is $700.00.  Drawing will be on the last day of the quilt show, September 25th, and the winner need not be presented.
