The mission of the David Labkovski Project is to educate through the art of David Labkovski (1906-1991). By engaging viewers with his paintings and sketches, the David Labkovski Project shares lessons of life, survival, tolerance, acceptance, and the importance of bearing witness to history. The DLP creates a living bridge from the lessons of the Holocaust to the realities of today’s world. We introduce and preserve the legacy of the Holocaust experience through the artwork of world-renowned artist David Labkovski (1906-1991), who documented life before, during and after the Holocaust with his paintbrush and pencils.
This mission of the David Labkovski Project is to engage students through Labkovski’s artwork in Holocaust history in order to begin constructive conversations about the dangers of hatred, bigotry, racism, and antisemitism. David Labkovski Project • International Student Docent Training A virtual program for 8-12th graders that meets once a month. Students learn about David’s life, how to read art, and are taught the tools to curate their own exhibit.
