Club Service Committee
The next Club Service Committee meeting will be held on Monday, May 11 at KCLU at noon.  Dapper is promising a Mexican Fiesta for lunch.

Dos de Mayo
That is not a misprint.  You have all heard of Cinco de Mayo, a long standing Mexican holiday.  But have you heard of Dos de Mayo?  This ancient tradition sees a mild mannered technologist and his beautiful bride host an amazing party.  Legend has it, the holiday celebrates tequila of all flavors, unbelievable cuisine, and pugilists.  If you know what I am talking about then you enjoyed a wonderful time at the Lupano home.  If you don’t, you missed out.
Andy continued the Dos de Mayo celebration during the Rotary lunch by auctioning off a boxing themed bottle of tequila.  By Andy’s own admission, “the Tequla stinks, but the bottle is kind of cool.”  Nida Brown won the auction and all proceeds went to the K9’s for Warriors project.

Earthquake Relief in Nepal
Jeanne Archer asked members to support earthquake relief efforts in Nepal.  Jeanne has been in touch with the Rotary Club of Dhulikhel.  Their president elect, Ranjeev Shrestha indicated that they are in need of funds that will allow for quick and easy low cost housing to be built since monsoon season is approaching.  A donation sheet was passed around resulting in more than $1,000 being contributed by our club.  Jeanne plans to wire the money on Tuesday, so if you would like to make a donation, please contact her directly.

Duck Dynasty Gets His Blue Badge
Kyle Griffith or somebody resembling Kyle finally   received his Blue Badge.  President Taylor has been trying to give Kyle his badge for months now, but didn’t recognize him.

Save the Date
June 17.  President Taylor’s Demotion Party.  You won’t want to miss it.

OakHeart Country Music Festival
Brian Hynes and the lead singer from ZZ Top provided an excellent overview of the OakHeart Country Music Festival.  The event takes place on Saturday, June 6 at the Conejo Creek Soccer Fields (same location as Chili Cook-off and Conejo Valley Days).  This day-long event should be considered our club’s Chili Cook-off and its success and the support of all members are critical for the future of our club.

All Rotarians should have received an email with volunteer sign up information.  If you have not, please contact Brian.  In addition, Brian is always looking for additional sponsorship.  Please let Brian know if you have a good lead.

Finally, all Rotarians are asking to help spread the word on this incredible event.  Please encourage your friends and family to attend   All the information you need can be found at http://www.oakheartcmf.com/.
