Rotarians Opening Their Homes and Hearts

Everyone knows that if you need to get something done, ask a Rotarian.  A group of 36 children from Haikou City, China, were scheduled to come to California for a cultural and language exchange through the EF Program (ef.com).  Somehow, their hosting city handed off that responsibility to the hosting group in Moorpark.  The Moorpark group already had over 100 kids from Finland, Spain, and Indonesia that were placed.  In desperation, they broadcast their need for help.  That call was heard by Mel and Linda, who sprang into action.  Mel got the word out to our club, and Mel and Linda opened their home to - not one, but - two students!  Then Charles offered to take one student.  And Robert volunteered to host one as well. 

How lucky could these students get? Not only are they in Southern California, but they're being hosted by some of the best people--Rotarians from Westlake Village!  And what a great opportunity for Rotary.  These 40 children will return to China and mini-ambassadors for Rotary.  Watch the bulletin for updates and pictures when they become available.
