Last weeks meeting was amazing with the Sheriff was amazing. It was great to see so many faces (44 of them) there. This weeks meeting with Ed Jones was just as wonderful.

We have a few volunteer opportunities if you are interested: 1) PEACE DAY Friday, February 16. Our club has an awesome event every year with the Safe Passages, Park and Rec and Art Trek. It is a fun and rewarding day. We need help running a scavenger hunt with 7 stopping points and a little activity at each stop. It is from 8:30am-2:30pm at the park next to TO High School. Please contact Mary Olson if you can help. 2) Open Hearts ( Jane Seymour) needs help with their Gala. They need help stuffing the bags on Tuesday, February 13 from 9am-2pm. You don't have to stay the whole time. They are happy with anytime we can give them. This is at Jane's Studio in Westlake. They also need volunteers at the Gala at Calamigos Ranch on Saturday, February 17 from 3:30-10:00. It isn't hard work, we help set up and and get the credit cards and running them to the banker. If you can help please let me know. 3) Please don't forget to bring quarters for Harbor House Laundry. They are washing the homeless clothes and need all the quarters we can bring. Important Dates Saturday, February 10, Move the Facades from the storage unit to the YMCA. We need help moving the HITV stuff Saturday. We are hiring day laborers for the facades but need as many people as we can get for the smaller stuff. We also need helpers to inventory the small stuff we brought from Mikes a few weeks ago. This can be members that are physically able to do a lot of hauling. 9am Extra Space Storage 3101 Grand Vista Dr Newbury Park 10:30 YMCA 4200 Mountain Meadow Dr, Moorpark Tuesday, February 13, 7:30 am Zoom Board Meeting Wednesday, February 14, Noon regular meeting at Los Robles Greens. It is Past Presidents day. Past Presidents are invited to lunch and we get to hear about the highlights of their year. We had this once a year before COVID and they were always fun. Thursday, February 22, 5:30pm Club Social at Lucky Strike. 706 Los Angeles Ave, Moorpark. the cost is $30 which includes shoe rental and 1 hour of bowling. Monday, February 26 11:30am making Harbor House lunches at KCLU Monday, February 26, 12:00 pm Club Service at KCLU. Everyone is welcome! Wednesday, February 28, Noon Regular Meeting Los Robles Greens. We will be celebrating Rotaries 119 Birthday. Will be a fun day with cake and lots of Speakers talking about Rotary Past, Present and Future. February 28- March 6. Our food drive from Manna. Bring food both meeting days, collect from family, friends, co workers. Saturday, March 9 is district training. Education and Training is the key to vibrant club and District Leadership. District 5240 has a strong background in providing current and emerging leaders with the background, knowledge and tools needed to successfully lead a group of Rotarians in a direction that makes a difference locally and globally. |
