Past President Brad Ormsby led the flag salute, followed by Past President Ed Pope, who delivered the following:
As most all of us are aware, our dear friend and fellow Rotarian Harry Schad passed away this past weekend. While many of us were aware of Harry’s brave battle with a grave illness, his passing was nonetheless sudden and shocking. It is natural to feel profound sadness at the passing of a dear friend we’ve come to admire and love, we should also feel great gladness at having had the opportunity and the privilege of knowing Harry as a dear friend.
Harry was the quintessential “Distinguished Gentleman.” He was an energetic and passionate Rotarian. It is highly probable that neither I nor many of you would have had the honor of knowing and working with Harry were it not for, as another distinguished Rotarian Sam Greene put it so well, “the miracle of Rotary.” God bless Harry Schad.
As we gather here today in friendship and fellowship, bless this food to our bodies and ourselves to your service.
Amen.
Services For Harry Schad will be this Saturday, September 21, 12:00 noon, at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 5801 Kanan Road.

During today's meeting, the current budget was distributed for membership.  A lively discussion ensued, with good and thought-provoking questions, and many ideas were floated for possible changes to fundraising goals and strategies.  All members were invited to attend committee meetings, share their ideas, and put them to action.
