WADE NOMURA is a charter member and past president of the Rotary Club of Carpinteria Morning. Wade will be serving as District Governor in the years 2011-2012. He has served as a Group Representative, District Vocational Service Director, District Club Service Director, Mid Terms Chair, and Education and Training Deputy Director. He is a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow, Paul Harris Society Charter member, Rotary Foundation Benefactor, Bequest Society member and Major Donor. He is the only instructor trained to teach all the Basic PRLS modules and all the Master PRLS series; 1&2 (Extemporaneous and Planned Speaking), Master PRLS 3 (Facilitation Skills), MPRLS 4 (Situational Leadership) and MPRLS 5 (Project and Business Planning). Wade has also presented PRLS in District 4160, Mexico.

Wade shares Rotary with his wife and childhood sweetheart, Roxanne.  Roxanne was President of the Rotary Club of Carpinteria Morning before Wade!  Wade and Roxanne have a son and a daughter, plus a much loved grandson.

Wade shared his story of being afflicted with polio at the age of four. He reminded us that the most important position in Rotary is the club President; because all the work is done by the members.  At his first NID, they innoculated 916,000 children in four days.

To Wade, there are three gifts in Rotary:

  1. The opportunity to make a difference, change a life
  2. The "Rotary Moment"
  3. The ability to share these gifts, these opportunities, with others.  Whether through membership, or sharing with family and friends.  And thought they might not join, they can become Rotarians in their hearts.
