Not only did Ken Snow win the longest put contest and a 4 day cruise at the Westlake Village Sunshine Rotary golf tournament, but his team took 3^rd place overall.

 

The Epic Challenge was truly Epic!  A special recognition goes to PP Edwin Velarde for organizing this incredible fundraising event at the District Conference in Monterey.  The event raised $42,000 and Edwin put his money where his mouth is and rode his bike a whopping 200 kilometers (124 miles).  Jack Dwyer joined Edwin for a section of the ride.  Our club led all fundraising efforts.  Truly and Epic event!

 

Ken Snow provided an update on the Rotary shopping spree.  Ken is bringing back this wonderful event that allows underprivileged children to “shop” at a local retail store for their holiday presents.  You don’t want to miss this one. 

 

Jim Campbell congratulated Charles Bloomquist on an incredible ALS fundraising event.  Charles team, “Let’s Kick Some ALS” was the third highest fundraising team in the event. 

 

Barbara Chilton spun the wheel and came up with a #6 which resulted in a a fine for the oldest member of her table.  Nobody admitted to being the oldest.

Bob Marshall also got a chance to spin and landed on #4.  #4 is the favorite number on the wheel as it resulted in NO FINE for anybody.  Let’s have Bob spin every week.

PP Gary Dickey hosted an incredible Vocational Service Potpourri.  Members were given a few minutes to share information on their chosen profession.  It was a very informative program as we all learned a little more about our fellow members.  Look for another Vocational Service Potpourri in 2015.
