PP Ed Pope introduced his co-worker and friend Tom Rosengram.  Ed presented Tom with a Paul Harris Fellow recognition.  Ed donated $1,000 to the Rotary Foundation in Tom’s name.  Thank you Ed for such a generous donation, and congratulations to Tom on receiving such a distinguished honor.  Read more about the Paul Harris Fellow here.

Congratulations and welcome to Rotary!

 

Ken Snow reported that it is official, the Club will be bringing back the Holiday Shopping Spree for underprivileged children.  On Tuesday, December 2, Club members will be matched with local youth for a holiday shopping spree at the new Westlake Village Target.  More details to come.

 

President Ray Taylor asked Nadine Larson to spin the wheel.  Nadine landed on #8, which resulted in a fine for the youngest member of her table.  We could not find out who was the youngest at that table.

 

Dolores Randell spun next and landed on #7.  NO FINE.  Way to go Dolores!

 

President Ray Taylor fined Steve Kerrigan for a piece on Steve in the North Ranch Magazine.  Apparently, Steve grows monstrous size pumpkins, the largest being 300 pounds.  President Taylor fined Steve $1 for every pound of his largest pumpkin. 

 

Bill Hang introduced Brett Darrington.  Brett is a local chiropractor and physical therapist.  An avid athlete, Brett is involved in Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra (DSES) which is a nationally acclaimed year-round adaptive sports program based in Mammoth Lakes.  Twice a year DSES hosts a Wounded Warrior event for disabled veterans.  Brett has volunteered at the event and decided to do more.  He organized “Bravery Uncorked” a photography, food, wine and jazz event that benefits DSES and the Wounded Warrior Project.  The event will be held on Saturday, October 18 at the Landing Grill and Sushi at Westlake Lake.  Click here for more information.
