Welcome Back! - President Taylor was pleased to welcome back Mel and Linda Le Vine and Harvey Magidow.  Both Linda and Harvey who have been recovering from surgery   Harvey returned just in time to receive his blue badge.

 

 

 

Holiday Shopping Spree – Ken Snow asked for last call of volunteers for the Holiday Shopping Spree at Target in Westlake Village.  Volunteers are asked to meet at Target at 6:45 am this Saturday, December 6.  The event starts at 7 am.  Email Ken if you can help out.

 

 

 

Meals on Wheels – Sign-ups for December Meals on Wheels was passed around.  Thank you to Brian Hynes for taking this Saturday, December 6. 

 

 

Club Holiday Party – Jim Campbell reminded everybody that the club’s holiday party will be Sunday, December 7 at the home of Dapper and Stephanie Spar.  The party starts at 4 pm.  This is a pot luck event as follows:

Last names beginning with E - M - Please bring a Dessert

Last names beginning with N - Z - Please bring an Appetizer

 

 

Rivalry Week – The big game came and went with the Bruins of UCLA dismantling the Trojans.  The big news was the Club's friendly wager netted a nice payout for Marion Hall Marshall and a $712 donation to K9’s for Warriors.  Thank you to Dapper Spar for organizing this fun wager.

 

All was not lost for USC fans as the Trojans showed up the following week for the annual game versus Notre Dame resulting in a 49-14 beating of the Fighting Irish. 

 

PP Jeanne Archer introduced four new Board Members for 2015-17.

Barbara Chilton, Jim Campbell, Dolores Randell, and Kyle Griffith.

 

Following this, Steve Kerrigan was nominated and elected President Elect Nominee for the 2016-17 year.  Congratulations Steve!

Mary Olsen made a last chance plea for support of her efforts in the New West Symphony’s “Dancing with the Stars Competition and Fundraiser."  To support Mary, actually support New West Symphony’s program that purchases musical instruments for underprivileged kids click here.  Mary goes for the title on Friday, December 5.    

 

Both DeAnn Justenson and Jeanne Archer were caught in the newspaper.  $25 fine for DeAnn and $30 for Jeanne.

 

Audrey Brown spun the Wheel of Mis-Fortune.  #16 came up resulting in a fine for the President Elect.  First USC loses to UCLA and now this.  Tough week for Dapper!

 

Thanksgiving Meals Delivery – A record 420 meals were delivered to families in Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, and Oxnard.  The Club provided $525 to help purchase meals. 

 

Charles Bloomquist introduced iconic Dodger Peanut Man, Roger Owens.  Roger has worked for the Dodgers since 1958, when he started by selling 7-up at the Coliseum before Dodger Stadium was built.  He developed his signature style of throwing trick shot peanuts to customers which provided him the opportunity to chuck peanuts at Jimmy Carter's Presidential Inauguration, Dallas Cowboy football games, the Jonny Carson Show and the Japanese World Series.
