Charles Bloomquist introduced Erik Fido, Silver and Bronze Medalist at the 2015 World Special Olympics held in July in Los Angeles.  Charles also introduced Erik’s mother, Noel Stevens, who gave a wonderfully eloquent talk on Erik’s introduction to Bowling (Erik’s sport) and how it assisted him with autistic spectrum disorder.

Noel told the group how Erik started at age 17 with Conejo Parks and Rec.  This offered Erik to participate in local Special Olympic competitions in which he had to have won at least one gold medal to be eligible for the World Games.  Erik trained with the US Team in Indianapolis before the World Games in July, where the motto is “Acceptance and Inclusion.”

President Dapper Spar thanked Erik and Noel on behalf of the Club and the meeting was adjourned
