Rotary This Week Flag: Nadine Larson Song: PP Steve Kerrigan Invocation: PP Gary Dickey Guests: PP Brad Ormsby introduces guests Tami Dickey, William Hynes and Marian Marshall. Announcements: President Bob Marshall asks what do you want your maximum fine to be? Please let him know.  The next Club Service meeting is on Monday, August 27th (not the 13th) at 12:00 pm at PP Dapper's office; 4505 Las Virgenes Road, Suite 108. All Club members are welcome.  There was an activities calendar to pick up at the meeting.  The "Propose a New Member" has been updated and improved. Please use the new form for proposing a new member.  The Beer and Wine Trolley Social is on Thursday, September 6th. Erin and PP Dapper organized this event. The trolley will stop at several breweries and wineries for tastings and appetizers. There will also be a Thousand Oaks Blvd tour with the future plans for improvement being described. The cost is $35/person. Nadine notes that Saturday, 8/11, the backpacks will be stuffed with school supplies at Art Trek. All are invited to participate.  There will be a site tour of the new YMCA, Wednesday, August 15, 5-6:00, to view the new facilities. There will be light appetizers offered. See Mike Dutra for further info. Bill gives us an overview of the method of proposing a new member, which includes using the most recent New Member Proposal sheet. PP Lee Ginsburg speaks of retention of members, asking us “why do you stay in this club?”. The answers ranged from friendship, fun, positive effect we have on the community and the world. Networking is a small percentage with the majority saying they feel rewarded by helping others. Lee says to get involved on all levels of Rotary. It is beneficial to all. Bill Hang led the 4 Way Test and the meeting was adjourned. |
